Frequency Illusion is a solo exhibition of all new works on paper by David Micheaud, using soft pastel for the first time in his practice.
Drawing on the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon - whereby something appears to occur more frequently once it enters our awareness - the exhibition explores the shifting relationship between attention and perception. Objects and recurring forms become quietly estranged yet totally familiar, inviting us to question whether the world around us has changed or simply the way we see it.
